Design professionals may earn American Institute of Architects (AIA)/Continuing Education System (CES) Learning Units (LUs) and Health, Safety, & Welfare (HSW) Learning Units (LU|HSW) by attending pre-approved MED|Ed Facilities sessions and co-located conferences.
AIA members and other architects licensed in states with mandatory continuing education (MCE) requirements for license renewal are required to complete a minimum number of hours of Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW)-related training. AIA members are required to take 12 learning unit (LU) hours of continuing education per year in approved HSW topics.
Qualifying sessions will be designated in the online schedule and in the onsite program with the number of LUs and/or HSW next to each session. Be sure to ask room monitors to scan your badge when you enter and as you exit qualifying sessions if you’d like approved sessions reported to the AIA.
